Skins

 

My new favorite obsession is the British TV show Skins.  Do me a favor and put it on your Netflix queue right now.  It's a show about a group of dysfunctional 16- and 17-year olds.  Tony is an alpha dog and will do anything to get what he wants.  His best friend Sid will do anything Tony says but is madly in love with Tony's girlfriend, Michelle.  Sid owes £300 to a nefarious character named Madison Twatter.  Yes, the Mad Twatter will do anything to get his money back.  Cassie is in love with Sid but her anorexia and suicidal tendencies always get in the way.  Chris's mom abandons him with £1,000, but that lasts for about two days.  Maybe he can ask the teacher he's having an affair with for some money.  DID I MENTION THAT THESE KIDS ARE DOING DRUGS AND HAVING SEX ALL THE TIME?  It's great.  The best part is that the Slumdog Millionaire kid plays one of the horny drug addicts.  He doesn't want to answer any trivia questions, he just wants the puss.  MTV is coming out with its own version on Monday and I suppose I'll try and watch it, but nothing can be crazier than the British version.  Nothing.  Watch it.
