The Adult Video News Awards are a sanctimonious event. My eyes still start tearing up when I think about Lexington Steele's watershed 2000 win for Male Performer of the Year. Now comes word out of this year's ceremony that Andy Dick was thrown out after starting trouble with drag queen Chi Chi LaRue. NOBODY MESSES WITH CHI CHI LARUE!!! My question is this: if you're at a place with some of the hottest chicks there ever were, why are you bothering a drag queen who looks like a character from Star Trek? Go bother Jenna Haze! Go bother Tori Black! Go bother James Deen! For the genius behind two of the greatest MTV shows ever The Assistant and The Andy Dick Show, I'd expect much better.
You would think Charlie Sheen would be the one causing trouble. Wait, what's that? Charlie was there? He's actually still in Las Vegas, holed up in a hotel room with three porn stars while he's supposed to be on the set for Two and a Half Men? That's more like it. While we're at it, how is Charlie not the permanent host of the AVN Awards? He could be the smutty equivalent of Ricky Gervais and the Golden Globes. Spike TV needs to get on top of this immediately.
